LONDON, 7th July, 2022 (WAM) -- British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced today his resignation from the leadership of the ruling Conservative Party.
At a press conference held at the government headquarters in the British capital of London, Johnson said the timetable for choosing a new party leader will be announced next week, indicating that he will continue as Prime Minister until a new party leader is chosen.
"Today, I have appointed a cabinet to serve, as I will, until a new leader is in place," he said.
